Eranda , Nimesha clinch Cross Country Titles
Eranda Thennakoon, 36 year old father of two and Nimesha Nandasena clinch the title of the National Cross country championship 2019 held at Golf Course, Nuwaraeliya.
Thennakoon from Boralanda , Uva province had placed within top three several times in the past but had never won the event until this year. Race favourite and defending champion , RMS Pushpakumara was the one who was leading 4 laps out of five which consist of 10Km . Pushapkuamra who was leading with considerable gap had unfortunate incident in the last rounds as he injured his ankle where he have up the race with less than 1km to finish line. Thennakoon who got full advantage of the situation clocked 33 minutes 02.21 seconds to win the event .
