Upamali wins Gold with new PB 53.88 sec

400m runner Upamali Rathnakumari clocked a new personal best of 53.88 seconds to win the Gold medal at the Malaysian Open Athletics Championship at Kaula  Lumpur earlier Today.  Upamali  who had previous best of 54.3 had a set back during last National Trials but have come back strongly here clocking sub 54 seconds in 400m . Chandrika Subashini Rasnayake is the only other SL athlete who is still running with sub 54 seconds performance in the event.
