MONACO — The global athletics community is abuzz as World Athletics officially unveiled the finalists for the prestigious 2025 Athlete of the Year Awards, recognizing the most outstanding performers in track and field over the past season. The announcement sets the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the athletics calendar, with winners to be revealed at the World Athletics Awards ceremony on Sunday, November 30th.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Year Finalists

Two sprint sensations headline the men’s track category:

  • Noah Lyles (USA) – The reigning World 200m champion, Lyles continued his dominance in the half-lap event, clocking world-leading times and electrifying crowds with his trademark flair and consistency.
  • Emmanuel Wanyonyi (KEN) – The young Kenyan star captured the World 800m title, showcasing tactical brilliance and raw speed in one of the most competitive middle-distance seasons in recent memory.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Year Finalists
