400M World Record Holder Wayde van Niekerk enjoys U-19 World Cup action in Bloemfontein
|Van Niekerk was injured after he was participated in a celebrity funded rugby match that was sponsored by FC soccer in October 2017 shortafter his world championship win. He unfortunately made an inverted cut and tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). He began treatment immediately after surgery and due to this injury, he was unable to attend any meets during the 2018 and was also out in 2019 struggeling to get back to the form he was in . But he has announced that he is eyeing to defend his Olympic title this year .
