Peterite Rumesh Tharanga shatters two records

Thrower from St. Peter’s College, Rumesh Tharanga  excelled setting two new meet records at the Junior National Athletics Championship continued for the third day at Sugathadasa stadium, Colombo yesterday.

Tharanga who had already set the under 16 boys discuss throw record on Monday with a throw of 55.34m shone in the javelin throw too with a distance of 65.26m where he erased the record of 62.27m set by IA Paranagama, 17 years ago today .
