Sithum Jayasundara from Sir John Kothalawela MV Kurunegala once again showcased his mesmerizing sprinting ability with record breaking runs and finished the day with four gold medals in the All Island School Games 2019, at the Sugathadasa .
The 15 year old who trains under Sunethra Kodithuwakku, had already bagged the gold medals for the 100m and 400m with new meet records of 48.73 seconds in the 400m in the under 16 category by the end of Thursday.

But, Jayasundara’s hunger for success did not stop there, and he then shattered the record of the 200m clocking 22.16 seconds to seal his third gold medal with the second new meet record . A moment later he anchored his school’s 4x400m relay team for the gold medal running an amazing last leg to steal the show on day three.
With a tall lanky figure, Sithum’s running style reminds us of sprinting legend Usain Bolt.

Sithum who won five gold medals (including the 4x100m relay gold) during the Junior Nationals and the John Tarbat Championship last month and is eyeing to do the same this year too, with the 4x100m yet to be worked off at the meet.
