51 year old Sri Lankan Patricia Gomez won the 10km Silver in Maldives

Maldives based Sri Lankan long distance runner Patricia Gomez won the Silver medal in Dhiraagu Maldives  10km  Road Race in Open Category. Patricia (51) placed second in women’s category clocking 00:47:02 and placed 17th overall.

Patricia expressed her views on this win with Ceylon Athletics.

Just this evening I finished 2nd at Dhiraagu Maldives road race Open 10km female category. And at the age of 51,years and 6 months two weeks, a very deserving 2nd place at 47.2 for 10km , 2 min behind the winner.

I was one of the two Foreign participants who won. And the oldest female winner in a open category for this race. Now (age) 51 and a half.
