Emma throws 47.95m ,Better than SL record

Emma De Silva who lives in Lawrence, USA mark new distance in Discuss throw with 47.95m throw during  a Kansas relays  athletics championship held at Kansas-Rock Chalk Park – Lawrence in April 19 to 22 . Her performance is  better than the Sri Lanka record of 47.50m set by Padama Nandani Wijayasundara in 2006.

Emma will return to Sri Lanka for the second National selection trials to be held in June where she has chance to make in to Sri Lanka team for the forthcoming Asian Championship 2017 in India. The qualifying standards for Asian Championship is given by AASL is 51 metres for the event and 5 ft 11 inches Emma who is just 19 has good chance of making it .
