Sri Lanka Names Relay Teams for India Tour
Sri Lanka will send a squad of 14 athletes to India following an invitation from the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). The team is set to compete in the National Open Relay Championship scheduled to take place in Chandigarh.
Upon AFI’s request, Sri Lanka will field two men’s 4x400m relay teams, one women’s 4x400m relay team, and will also participate in the 4x400m mixed relay event.
The competition is being organized by India as part of its preparations for the World Athletics Relays in Botswana on May 2–3, 2026. The event is expected to provide valuable international exposure for Sri Lankan athletes ahead of the global meet.
