|Biography

Lionel Samarajeewa is Sri Lankan distance runner who excel in 5000m , 10000m , and Cross country event. Samarajeewa had won both 5000m and 10000m for five straight years in the National Sports festival while had won National Cross country title for fourth consecutive and fifth overall time. 

Father of one child Samarajeewa was planing to run full marathon after his fifth cross country title in 2017 and did not participated in either 5000m or 10000m in the first National trials of 2017
