Ayesha Maduwanthi Palangasingha is a Sri Lankan athlete specialized in throwing events mainly hammer throw and Discuss throw. Ayesha hailing from Sevanagala Maha Vidyalaya is the present National record holder of the Hammer throw and has shattered the National record four times in fours years . She is also the defending National champion of both Hammer and Discuss throw events.
Trained under former athlete turned coach Madhawa Bandara Senarath ,Ayesha was mainly a discuss thrower until a shoulder injury result in she taking up Hammer throw .
Ayesha first came to the National lime light in 2013 by setting a new Sri Lanka record in hammer throw during National Sports Festival (NSF) held in Anuradapura and haven’t looked back since as she presently has a personal best of 47.92 metres in the event which set in the first National trials of 2017 and is looking towards first 50M throw by a Sri Lankan female athlete.
