Sri Lanka secured second place in the mixed 4x400m relay at the 1st Indian International Invitation Relay held in Chandigarh, India earlier today.
The quartet, led off by Kalhara Indupa Silva, followed by Jithma Wijethunga and Aruna Darshana, kept Sri Lanka in front for much of the race. However, in the final 100m, anchor runner Nishendra Fernando was overtaken by India A, who clinched victory.
Despite missing out on first place, Sri Lanka recorded an improved time of 3:19.58, bettering their performance from last year.
