The state of the art air conditioning system at the Khalifa Staduim in Doha where the world championship been held seems to had bit of problem on the opening day as it was quite hotter in the inside and defending world champion long jumper Luvo Manyonga of South Africa wasn’t too happy about it.
“I’m happy that I got into the finals. Weather has been tougher, and there’s a problem with the AC. It changes the wind direction all the time, and I had to adjust my run-up all the time.” said Manyonga after the competition.
The air conditioning system worked very well during the Asian Championship in April and during the Diamond League in May. Nevertheless, following the performance during qualification round Manyonga suggest that finals of the long jump will be wide open
“I think it’s wide open now . will see what will happen in the finals,” said Manyonga .
