Pushpakumara wins Gold in Vietnam -Poornima , Ridma seal Bronze

3000m steeple Chase runner Samantha Pushpakumara (Blackey) secured Gold medal  while  Long Jumper Ridma Nishadhi and High Jumper Poornima Gunarathne won bronze medals at the Vietnam open Athletics Championship 2017. Pushapakumara clocked 9 minutes and 4 seconds to win the race.

Ridma from Dhamashoka College Ambalangoda leap 5.98m to win the medal. Poornima who is also school athlete from Leeds International School Panadura cleared 1.70m to secure the bronze.

110m hurdler Hasith Nirmal faced an injury during the race and did not advance to the finals .
